Welcome
Welcome to REKINDLED!
A semi-canon Dragonriders of Pern roleplay that relies not only on the dragonriders to push the plot forward, but the everyday normal weyrfolk and holdfolk. The plot cannot move forward without these ordinary folks, and that sets us apart from other everday Pern sites. There's opportunity abound here, with our unique event system you may just find yourself landed with a plot character! We welcome all sorts of people here, and are not shy to say hello (or perhaps cajole you into staying), we hope REKINDLED suits you, and that you enjoy your stay or lurking. Feel free to take a look at our New Member Guide!
Welcome to REKINDLED!

.:Words of Thanks:.
Thanks to Aftershock, Ruby from Selenitas Weyr, and Zephyr for putting together this lovely skin. Thanks also to the very influential site Selenitas Weyr, the inspiration and guide to the making of this site, proving that a Pern site can be more plot oriented rather than Hatching oriented.

Pern. A utopian society not touched by war, anger or hate. The very same that the settlers set out to create, escaping a galactic war; something which Pern only tasted with Fax. The briefest warning, of the volcano known as human nature. Two thousand Turns have passed since the end of Thread, and tensions are running high with the grudgingly accepted dragonriders absent from the skies after having suffered from a great dragon epidemic, only a four queens left out of twenty, one sterile. With Lord Holders becoming greedy, the volcano is set to erupt.
Southern Weyr
Home of the rumored MAD queen, never seen only heard, Southern Weyr is caught between the two factions brewing within. With the other Weyrholds looking askew at the re-opening of the Weyr, will the two factions tear each other apart before they even lift a finger?
Cove Weyrhold
Holding onto the status of leading Weyrhold that Lessa and F'lar had established, Cove Weyrhold is perhaps the loudest voice against the re-established Weyr. Whether they take matters into their own hands is no longer a question of if, but of when.
Azoc Weyrhold
Still respected for their origins from the oldest Weyr on Pern, Azoc Weyrhold has taken a neutral stance on Southern Weyr. They are neither for, nor against it; and this leads rise to ridicule from Cove as well as their inner workings being switch into three factions: for, neutral and against.

Newsstand Keeping up with the activities of a site this extensive can get a little overwhelming, to solve matters, at least on important issues, the Newstand exists. All announcements and other such silly important threads can be found here.
Rules Survival is key, and the key to your survival among the administrators here is inside, and begging to be read. Not to be frank or anything, but those who don't read the rules are rather obvious. So read.
Information Que The basic information, some it can be found in our advertisement but for the more exstensive version you need to look inside. Information contained: Timeline, history, guides, etc.
Pern's greatest hero's, or greatest enemies? Only time will tell once the dragons break their shells, their creels echoing off the huge cavern's walls in the stifling heat. Dreams are made and broken here.
The living space of the newly bonded pairs, called weyrlings. It takes up the closest quarters to the Hatching Grounds, allowing the pairs to reach a sleeping place quickly after being stuff to the point of exhaustion. A lesson room, and feeding area are linked to the Barracks for easy access until the dragonets are grown. For bathing, well, let's just say it's going to be quite slippery around the dragonets for a while.

A staircase is immediately noticed off to the side, leading down into the Lower Caverns and where the goods are taken. Another path off to the side leads to the Council Room, another leads to the Infirmary, one to the candidate and weyrling barracks, and yet another leads to the staircases that begins up into the Weyr to the rider's weyrs. This is the hall the most newcomers to the Weyr will first lay eyes on, an impressive cavern directly linked to the landing grounds outside in the Weyrbowl.
The second largest area in the Weyr and found on the ground floor, the infirmary is big enough to house not only the riders, but injured dragons as well though most stay in their weyrs. The stink of numbweed and fellis permeate the air, but to some it is an elixer and Healers are the only ones that really think that. There is an office at the end of the Hall for the Weyrhealer, beds lining the walls with a few dragon couches here and there. A schedule board is posted outside.

The Lower Caverns can truly be considered the life of the Weyr, containing the kitchens, dining hall, the creche and so much more, there is hardly any quiet to be found down in this part of Southern. The headwoman makes sure to run a tight shift, rarely anything escapes her notice.
Hundred upon hundreds of weyrledges spot the cliff side, both overlooking the Bowl as well as the sea and even on some the jungle. Some prefer the cool mist sea breeze, some the quiet of the greenery, others see it as punishment for some misdeed they did. The lower level weyrs that are empty are used as guest quarters for important Holders.
This Weyrbowl is not completely even, having the rough cliff face of the Weyr towering above it on one side, while the shorter stone rock faces cower in its shadow. Dragon weyrs are dotted all along the cliff face, a small tunnel leading into the Bowl from the more runner accessible entrance. All caravans stop here to drop off their goods, and the landing area is spotted just off to the side.
The huge expanse of blue dwelling above Pern and all its inhabitants, only the great dragons of Pern can reach it with their huge wings. The sky always peaceful above Holds is rarely quiet around the Weyr.
On the highest point of the cliffs of Southern Weyr, are the watchheights where the watchdragon goes about his business every day, nothing escaping his practiced eye.

A large and grassy area, coraled all around to hold in the Weyrs herdbeasts and keep them from wandering off where they may become a hindrance or a dragon's snack.
Southern Weyrhold had become known for their runners, so it's no surprise that the old stables of the weyr have been expanded to house the famous Southern runners, made specifically to traverse Southern with ease. There is a place newly built within the stables for the handlers of the Southern runners.

A lake that swells with the seasons, smaller during winter, larger during summer when the snows melt up on the mountain peaks. It is fed by a river flowing north from the southern mountains.
The hot and humid jungle surrounding the Weyr, just as it was two thousand Turns ago, it is still mostly unsettled and full of whersport and dangerous felines. It also holds the herbs that have become so famous in the Healerhall.

The closet range to Southern is the Western Barrier Range, and thus is the most traversed. The old weyrhold was built at the base of the Range, and repairs are currently on going.
The driest area on Pern, and by far the hottest. This is the home of the nomads, the largest desert on Pern, and rarely traversed and only then with the good will and guidance of the nomads.

the holds: southern
The very first Southern Hold, once the home of the famous Southern holder Toric before he moved onto bigger and brighter things. Home of a minor Healing Hall, these Holders pride themselves on their herbs and herdbeasts.
Originally built for Master Harper Robinton, it has grown in influence and size. Cove Hold is known for its beautiful location, being a main tourist spot and resting place for Harpers. The current Lord Holder of the Hold has been the current, or retired, Master Harper since Robinton's time.

Located in the same province as Landing is, Cardiff Hold is prosperous, their most constant form of crafters being technicians because of their close proximity to the Hall, along with the other AVIAS induced Halls.

One of the few Holds that have cropped up in the furthest South, it is prosperous and known for its rare frost woodwork. Part of the few Holds to still hold respect for the dragonriders, it's also one of the few aware of the political crisis within their ranks.
Lord and Lady Holder: Emos and Isasha

weyrholds
Dwelling close to the famous Cove Hold, that which has now become a retreat for many old Harpers, Cove Weyrhold is the home to all those from Benden Weyr, still producing some of the largest queens on Pern. Their primary trade now, is wine and fish, their wine good enough to rival Benden's.
Lady and Lord Weyrholders: Nunca of gold Halziath and L'tal of bronze Totreth
Where all those from Fort came to dwell, they moved farther away from Xanadu and what is now called the Caspian Lake, and came to rest beside the Azoc Sea. Their pride in being the oldest Weyr still exists, but they don't get the pride of being the oldest Weyrhold sadly. The main export is whersport leather and boots, also using their fast winded boats to take travels through the sea, lake and river.
Lady and Lord Weyrholder: Brinka of gold Tamalith

elsewhere
You didn't think the skies around Southern were the only ones did you? Of course not. This area is for all encounters in other parts of Pern, other parts of South or even a Northern visit. There's even been a whisper of rider spats all up in here.
